Throttle Control

If, like me, you get a stiff right hand (!!!!!) while keeping the throttle open over a long period of time then I'd recommend a throttle control from'Kaoko'. You can order them from:

A throttle control for most other BMWs is fairly easty to acquire...not so for the 's'.
Fitted in 2 mins and cost me £65 inc. shipping.

Good one, Gordo!

Saw one in use on a GS last week but hadn't got around to searching for similar. I fancy one so that I can clean my visor etc with my right hand rather than always stretching for the chamois with my left.

I had a brief trial with one of those "palm-lever" type things - okay on the open road but a bloody liability in towns with corners. You can't fail to alter the throttle when you activate the RH indicator. You would need to stop to remove the thing prior to arriving in town (yeah - right!)

Alternatively... an assortment of elasticated hair bands from Tesco for 59p - double them up between the twist grip and the handlebar cluster and they give enough friction to hold the throttle long enough to stretch and rest your hand.

They also double up as a 'handbrake' when parked on the ferry.

This 'Blue Peter' idea was borrowed from ukGSer and tried and tested on the Alps trip earlier this year - ideal for those dull but necessary autoroutes that get you to the fun roads

Does it matter what colour of hairbandy-thingies you use? Does it matter if it is Tesco/Sainsburys/Morrisons? Please don't say it has to be ASDA

Seriously - you are absolutely right - a good solution to the problem of taking yer right hand off the bar ( for whatever reason).

But - be careful that you don't get off yer bike and have yer skiddies fall around yer ankles. You know it makes sense!

...it's a bloody wonder I can ride the bike at all.....'stiff right hand, numb left hand, vibrated left big toe.....not to mention the sometimes constant 'adjustment of ones finer parts....with my 'numb left hand'.
Not surprising I look a wreck when I get off me bike.....
