new r1100s owner PhilipS64

Postby PhilipS64 » Tue Aug 13, 2024 9:21 pm

Hello Boxertrix -

Trading Up to a Boxer
An r1100s from 2002 in Frost- Blau - I'm delighted with it
Having px my f800s for its older bigger brother - what a good decision
I have only gone 90 miles so far and just getting used to the charming rocking and clunking

It has a 12v cigarette type power socket on stem below the dash - having tried a optimate battery charger plug-in, no joy charging - no other power socket (the smaller can bus type).
I will fit a battery tender lead to the terminals - where do folks typically route the plug to rest

thanks in advance for any guidance

I used to route an optimate lead to the area under the riders seat.

As you will find getting to the battery is a bit of a faff! Don't forget to remove the bolts under the BMW badge on the sides of the front fairing when removing it for access

Welcome on board Philip!

Cheers,

Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.
