Bad Penny

Postby Huw » Mon Sep 12, 2022 12:45 pm

Yes, like the proverbial, I have reappeared, older but no wiser.
I have not yet changed my “bikes in my garage” bit but I no longer have the BCR and I have been having withdrawal symptoms which led me to a new Bike Shop in town and in the back under a very reasonable price sign was a low mileage ‘98 R1100S in black not DDP! Nearly 25 years old and a claimed mileage of 23k, would you believe?
Now a question for Admin: should I post a pic showing the reg no in the hope that the previous owner(s) will see and comment on the mileage/history or would that be wrong?
I am so tempted to just buy and risk it!

Hi Huw,

I don't see any harm in posting the reg to see if anybody on here knows the history. Looking forward to seeing you in Wales on it in October

cheers,

Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Hi
Doing an mot history check online at the gov website may help substantiate the mileage if nothing else?

Cheers H
