I recently (pre lock down) went for a suspension set up. All went well till we tried to add more pre load to the rear shock. The lock ring is alloy but the adjuster ring is black plastic and it wasn't up to the task. The shock is due to come out for a rebuild so I would like to change it at the same time.
Has anyone out there changed the plastic ring for an alloy one and if so if you could let me know where you found it or a part number that would be helpful. I cannot see a part number/model number on my shock although to be fair I haven't removed it yet.
Thanks in expectation.
Ps re Criccieth? is this fully booked?

Don’t know the answer to your question, but a lot of people(including me)on the GS forum use a guy called Denzo for suspension info and rebuilds on OE an aftermarket shocks, he is very knowledgeable, has a test rig, and provides a very good service, 10-14 day turnaround time depending on spares etc using courier, based in Croydon.
If you would like his contact details let me know.

Think any decent suspension workshop should be able to sort you out, if I remember correctly when I had the Ohlins serviced on my 12s he replaced the plastic ring with an alloy one as a matter of course.

Have you tried https://www.twsuspensiontech.co.uk/ to see if he can sort you out? He's in Preston.
Re: Ohlins rear shock pre load ring
Thanks for the responses. I'm booked in with TW suspension services in Preston. He did a set up for me and I was very satisfied with his efforts, big, noticeable difference and good value for £40. He can probably source this as well, I was just trying to get ahead of the game.
I've spoken with KAIS they can supply the part but due to the wonderful new trading arrangements with our friends in Europe, parts are now delayed for about 2 weeks.
