Our esteemed ex moderator and friend Richard Joyce is in hospital after having had a heart attack.
On his FB page it looks as though he is recovering well from having a stent.
Good luck and best wishes for a full and speedy recovery Richard
We are all thinking of you.
Cheers John M

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.
Re: Richard Joyce
Get well soon Richard!

Re: Richard Joyce
Morning fellas,
Thanks so much for the well-wishes, it's been a slightly tricky week to put things mildly.
Been doing a lot of walking recently without a murmur - including a week's holiday up in Northumberland with the family (including the mad hound) where we spent most of each day climbing dunes, walking the beaches and generally getting a lot of exercise. Not a flicker from the ticker.
Started some very gentle jogging last week and was on session 4 on monday when, 10 mins after getting home, I started to feel 'a bit shit' (that's the limit of my medical terms vocab). ECG at our GP showed I'd had a heart attack, one hour later I was having 3 stents fitted at Lincoln County Hospital. The care I received in the Coronary Care Unit was just the very best, the staff there are true super heroes, saving lives every day - I owe them more than I can ever dream of repaying.
Back home now.

Re: Richard Joyce
It makes you realise how good our NHS and nurses are - my sister has been in the NHS since she was 18 and coming up to 53 this year - as much as she would like to get out of the health service (along with many others due to red tape and all that blah di blah) I remind her of how much the majority of the public appreciate what she and many others do

Thanks for the kind wishes everyone, it's really appreciated. Went for my first proper walk this morning (for about 10 mins) and I'm still here to tell the tale.
