Ouch! Thankfully no reports of spinal chord severance. Harrowing time for family.

Long road indeed and possibly end of road for his racing. I wish him and all his family the best of luck with the recovery.

When he crashes he crashes big.

Saddened.

No margin for error in road racing. The grim reaper beckons. I read a quote somewhere from ( allegedly ) Joey Dunlop. that, I think, went something like this, "there is a grey blur and there is a green blur, I try to stay on the grey blur"

Gotta feel for the loved ones left behind who live with the prospect of fate.

I was just "chatting" on facebook the other day with Norman Kneen, Dan Kneen's father.
We started at the Manx GP in adjacent pits back in 1978 newcomers race.
Very sad, but it comes with the territory, when you race on the Island.

This weeks MCN, Michael Scott is back with a column, he can be intelligently thought provoking, some would say controversial however his comments regarding TT sum it all up for me. I am glad he is back for his articulate analysis of racing and his astute character observations of the movers and shakers in the play. One of the better aspects of the publication.

The TT, bloody marvellous, I will never go, I wish it well and respect peoples freedom of choice, but I suspect that road racings best days are behind and not in front. There is only a very small select club that can seriously compete for the fastest lap, Mcpint.. out Anstey out, William Dunlop out Martin awol Bingley Bullit.. crocked and loaded.

I`d be really interested to hear Mrs Dunlops thoughts and fears about her sons and racing. There is surely a Book there.

My mum used to send me press cuttings from The Northern Echo, Whitby gazette and Scarborough evening news that reported MCycle fatalaties around the east coast. Thanks for that mum. Amanda has put a key fob on the Gixxer with a picture of our eldest grandson... very sobering, stay safe everyone!

A couple of weeks back, Bruce and Anny were visiting a mutual mate (Paul Owen from Llangollen) for a bit of a rest after his chemo. Sitting outside the cafe at the Ponderosa having a brew, hundreds of bikers wearing TT clothing walked straight past them with no recognition at all. Mr Arsestink will be back on The Island next year to show them how it's done
