I'm hoping to do a track day this year. The last one (and only one, so far) was back in 2011 on my old Aprilia Falco, and was a Bike magazine 'Reclaim our Tracks' day. Good fun, well organised and plenty track time. But...
I knew my insurance didn't cover me for track days, and I did look around for track day insurance, but it seemed too hard/expensive and in the end I took the "sod-it, I just won't crash it" option. But I felt that not being insured did add extra pressure & stress to the day, and I never relaxed enough to really get the most out of it.
What would you guys do or recommend for the next one, on my precious R1200S?

Re: Track Day Insurance?
Personally if it’s “precious” then I wouldn’t, my m8 took his Gixxer 1100 slingshot (long time ago) to Donington and got wiped out (bike written off) whilst going round the outside at Coppice by a very poor rider, just my opinion mind and having never ridden a track.

Re: Track Day Insurance?
Seen too many people fall foul at a track day - mainly by idiots who cant ride with their head.
If your bike is precious don't do it.
If you can get insurance ok.
Or rent a track bike to do it.
None of which are cheap. But any motorsport is not a cheap option.
This one looks ok at £75 https://www.moris.co.uk/Track-day-insurance
Good luck with it

Tend to agree with Popsky, if it's a special bike then don't risk it. Even if you're confident to ride at your own pace there's always the risk of some idiot taking you out. Track days nowadays seem to be Wannabe Racer Days, all the fun taken out of it. I'd have a look at track bike hire, or do a 'friendly' track day like the old Bike Mag ones or the Morini Riders Club one.
