Three days of winter hell so far, bored to tears, unable to get out or get to work (so no earnings) :'(

Heading for 26 C might have to wander to beach later to cool off. Having to mow lawn at least once a week

snow just started here but I'm off til Wednesday night so not too bothered. Was in Lancashire on Saturday and southbound M6 resembled something that Torvil and Dean might have attempted.

We've had some snow here but nothing nasty - even though we live on a steep-ish hill, winter tyres on both cars means we usually manage ok. :) However, the central heating's packed up this afternoon! More specifically, the pump has, and its dripping water from one of the unions underneath. And then I find out that our 'home emergency cover' is somewhat more relaxed than its name makes it sound - I had visions of a blue-light equipped, fast response plumber turning out. Nope, we get an all-day appointment tomorrow. Bugger. Mulled wine on the go, fleecey blankets all round, we're quite cosy really! And saving money! :D

Hope you get the central heating fixed soon. There isn't much that is more miserable than broken central heating in winter (I'm sure there must be more miserable things, but I just can't think what). While I criticise our home cover supplier for messing us about with unkept appointments, they did once come out on Christmas Day - very quickly too and had it back up and running before lunch.

We had a brilliant day on Sunday in the snow. Took our daughter's young dog for her first experience in the snow. A long walk over the fields, with the dog charging about catching snowballs. Sledging and snowball fights - love it. To be fair, Steve, your snow does look a lot deeper than ours was (it's pretty well gone today).

In every dog there exists a wolf.

It`s winter lads what can we expect! In Farthingstone last night I bumped into the ghost of Christmas past. Proper Dickensian experience. The Happy Hooker served me well.
