getting the itch for another sports bike

In the frame to sit on, the Ducati 899 panni, 9k should get me a good un, Always fancied a V4 so the little (cough) RSV4 is also in, Triumph 675 Daytona is also a possibility I aint gonna go touring on any of them! Friends and my head are telling me that for under 5k a good blade or gsxr can be had but my heart always errs towards the Italian ones and for some unexplained reason not an inline 4, a bit in the same way as I was determined not to buy a modern GS. As usual can I heck make up my own mind. I do not want an older litre class lumpy twin either.

Money burning a hole in my pocket.

You can get a 675 for very little money. my mate just sold his 06 bike that he had from new for less than £4K and it was in showroom condition. i think that would be my choice.

I completely get the "not an inline 4 thing".

The bike I regret selling most was my RC8. A 2010 model (on a 12 plate). Superb on the road, and a trackday beast. Comfortable too.
Switch off the O2 sensors and they are as smooth as a big V-twin is ever going to be.
You could get a late model "R" and have some change

How about the MV Agusta F3 800? absolutely gorgeous to look at, and at 148? BHP and a triple to boot, whats not to like?
And in your budget too, I'de have one if I had the dosh, but I may have to have my hips surgically adjusted to fit the recesses in the tank

Not for me I'm afraid - I would look seriously at the Aprilia V4 TBH.

TBQH I do not know myself it just felt the thing to do in the same way I bought a Griso, it felt right , it felt right to move it on also. Life is a wave relentlessly washing up on the shore only to be followed by another one. it`s fun! BTW The Aprillia build and componentry is outstanding but possibly the power and a crouch that would need best metal to endure. I think I am best suited to a middleweight. Going to contradict myself here (again) but the GSXR 750 K5 is catching my eye and nose, ok it is an inline 4 but prices have been hanging around the £4k mark for a couple of years now (for a mint unmolested one sub 6k miles). I may dip my toe in the water here. I certainly will not take a kicking if I get bored and decide best to move on again.

I think it's lovely.
Not a popular bike when it was introduced, meaning that in the not too distant future it's going to be sought after.
I wish I had a fiver for every time I've predicted that and been right.
Beautifully made things those KTM's.

Very angular, stealth fighter styling. Big fan of the belly pan zorst. What is not to like is the matt paint finish. Had this on a bike and it is not as durable as a good layered paint system with clear gloss coat finish. The new MV`s I have been looking at in the flesh have the best paint finish of all bar none. Matt paint is a way of cost saving in the manufacture process. Punter thinks it`s cool until he lives with it and realises how thin the paint system is.

I have pondered over one of these many times but it is now laid to rest. The mid weights are now pumping out equal amounts of power to the older big brothers that we drooled over 15 years ago when we were all younger and fitter.
