Me too

There would appear to be a surfeit of prolixity and sesquipedalian content today please do not use a big word when a singularly un-loquacious and diminutive linguistic expression will satisfactorily accomplish the contemporary necessity

Went straight from work to The Manor Cafe for me tea. It was quiet but had a good chat to a couple of people and had a great ride home

Every day.
Up until last October I was a Commuter in car and on the Bike - 98 miles a day round trip from Essex to Docklands been doing it since 1999. 18k in the car and another 10k on the Bike (including weekend rides out and trips away). But finally got fed up with the poor driving standards coming into London and having to avoid being aimed at several time a day and so decided to take the train instead.
Apparently I now don't have black rings under my eyes and am a nicer person to live with. Using the train is pretty much regular as clockwork with only three delays since October.
However yesterday I came by bike thinking it was going to be a dry day (According to BBC, Dark Skys App and Met office app). The Traffic was so bad that my normal Bike commute took 1 hour 35 minutes instead of an hour and I got drowned on the way home. Also had to clean the bike when I got home so it didn't go away wet.
Today I was on the train again, head in a book, and arrived dry and on time - the time having passed very quickly. So I have been a regular rider but now think I'll keep my bike's mileage a little lower as I approach 60 and let someone else do the daily drudge driving into London

Looked at it when I walked past it to get the lawnmower out.

I'm completely the opposite. The Teutonic Tangerine wrote:so decided to take the train instead.
When I lived in London, (SE), I did try the train for a while for the daily commute into central London, but it did my head in.
Overcrowded, smelly, and unreliable.
Give me the bike every day, whatever the weather.
I never had much of a problem, probably because once through the Blackwall tunnel, everything was almost static, meaning I was filtering most of the journey, with the main dangers were Kamikaze cyclists, suicidal pedestrians.
20 years I did that, without so much as a graze.
I agree that it's not for everyone, but I actually miss it now.

Washed the 11S yesterday. Took the GSA out for a ride in the morning. At work tonight

Rode her to my lock up (until I move) and changed her over for the XJR. Fit the Givi rear rack to the XJR for the XJR Owners Club Rhayader Weekend in Wales this weekend. It is now a Memorial weekend for one of our Original Members of which there were 10 of us left before he sadly died of the big 'C' in 2014. We make sure we keep the weekend going and make it a celebration for him.

Took the Tiger 800 out for a 50-mile run. Mainly gentle bend-swinging along B roads, feeling relaxed. The occasional easy overtake, enjoying the ride. Zen. Arrived home and didn't want to stop. Smile on face. Really like that Tiger.
Took the R12S out for a 50-mile run. Wow, is it going well on the new tyres, so confident. Hooligan on A roads, think I'm in the TT, overtake and gone, barking on the overrun. Tuck in and muscle through the bends. Adrenaline hit after adrenaline hit. Arrive home and didn't want to stop. Grinning fiend. Brilliant! Love that machine.

Took the GS to work and will do for the rest of the week - eyes peeled for deer and pheasants on the early ride home and hopefully get the 12s MOTd ready for a ride on Sunday
