£16,000

True...............

That's crazy money! Remember there was one (poss the same one) - where the owner was looking for £26k?

They are special bikes, though - they fairly "tramp-on"

They are stunning Andy - local stealers had one a few years back for just under £11 000 but couldn't afford it. Have you found anything yet Andy?

Seem to be for collectors in the main. Asking strong money.
I've noticed the mileage on a few bikes creeping up, naturally enough with some usage. But for me once they hit 5 figures it is no longer a collectors item and the asking price is fantasy. Its a pretty bike but it isnt that great to ride.
I wonder if at some stage the price will drop on a bike with say, over 16 or 17k miles on it. The big service is at 30k yes?
I dont think i could drop 14k on one since the HP4 can be had for less.

I think the final word from BMW on the 30k overhaul - is that the extent of the work depends upon the usage. Normal road use will apparently minimise the work required.

Mine is now 8yrs old, and done only 4,500m...

Plenty of life left.............

It's a motorsport livery (less of them) plus the slipper clutch, etc... the price is still high IMHO, but I've seen worse.

Correct.
I was talking to my mechanic in Italy in September and he said that, most probably, if the bike is used normally on the road the work required is minimal (just a bit more than a usual service).
If the bike has been racing... another story.

I know a guy (on another forum) who did more than 50k km on the HP2. I don't remember him saying that his 50k service was horribly expensive.

Mine has 6k miles right now. I do around 1/1.5k miles a year on it... there is plenty of time still. :D

Without delving into that site - I'm assuming that bike had zero miles on it??
