and with the current strength of sterling a brake conversion would cost more than the bike is standing me . At least I learned a lot about drum brakes over the summer ( apart from what I knew already.. ( they're crap)).
Previous owner supplied everything that was needed to finish the bike and had got a reasonable paint job done on the tank and tool boxes
Gearchange was a tad sloppy
Despite what Enfielders say I've found the 500 (especially with the 5 speed box ) a much better bike than the 350, loads more torque and much more go relatively speaking... although admittedly it has a few more vibes.
