Just my experience.
Hi Viz is one of those things where people make assumptions.
They assume they will be seen more clearly.
Actually, there is no proof of that.
Now I'm all for being seen, so why don't the safety police petition to have fog lights fitted to bikes.
Every other motor vehicle has them fitted as standard, but for some reason the makers of bikes think we don't need them.

That'll be because you should only use 'fog lights' at times of reduced visibility, not all the time. Perhaps you mean 'driving lights'?

For some time now, bikes have had headlights that are permanently on when the engine's running. We've all seen bikes with lots of extra lights fitted - especially GS/Gs style ones - not sure if they're any more visible for it though.

just about all of the higher spec BMW bikes now have some form of LED DRL's fitted. They're connected to light sensors so they turn off automatically in tunnels and the dark

Yes I know, but that doesn't explain why we don't have them fitted as standard, when every other vehicle does,.

It'll come, as part of a future EUx spec update.

EU4 has just specified that all bikes sold in the UK next year has to have USA style orange reflectors on the forks

Here's a good example of how you'll never defeat the myopic minority.
Full, Hi Viz, blue lights and sirens sounding, then

As I understand it, we've signed up to a separate agreement in relation to vehicle environmental standards, and we have to comply with the same standards every other European country does.
That's how it was explained to me by a bike shop owner, so it's not gospel.
It'd be nice to see the return of the two stroke, but little chance.
