John's Chip for R1100S

Postby HarrisBikeNut » Sun Sep 25, 2016 9:43 am

New, never used Stage 9 chip from John Gemi(?)

Have one in my 2003 Randy Mamola BCR. Initially, when I fitted the first one, the fuel pump never switched off. Got another chip, the same happened. It turned out, the issue was the chip in the bike originally had been fitted into another part which then was fitted to the ECU. Once this additional part was removed and Johns chip fitted, all was well.
So this chip is surplus to requirements. Picture available if needed.

Not being a techno type, could you tell me about the benefits of fitting the chip. I have a 2004 BCR.

Thanks

Well I put one in last year on my 1998 1100S and it seems ok, trouble was that I did it over the winter and there was a gap between "before" and "after" so to speak. I also had to change the Motoronic unit as my early one was not compatible with the new chip.
