Sorry you had your bike stolen. I hope i never experience that.
So you bought a R1200S? Im sure you will enjoy it a lot. Solo.
Come back to this thread after a few weeks and read the replies again.
You will no doubt then agree with the opinions given to you! Lol.
Did you think about another 1100S? You will need another bike for 2 up.
Yeah, getting long in the tooth and there must be a load of newer better bikes out there, although i couldn't say what.
The old 1100S still rocks for me.
Please post up your thoughts on the twelve.

Indeed. I'm sure it's not as good for 2 up but will try to make the most out of it, be that lowered foot pegs for the passenger or a gel pad - time will tell.

I'm playing with the thought of a back up R1100 but on the other hand perhaps I should try out a Triumph ST? Bags seem rubbish for that one though but saw a sharp looking one yesterday...

My friends ST runs with the pressures indicated for pillion and luggage so I don't think that's the issue.

It's longer, heavier, has a touring biased suspension and I believe the fork angle is different too which all contribute to a less sporty feeling and a bike more inclined to go straight.

Having said that I'm not saying the ST is not sporty or can't be driven actively, and I might very well end up with one in the future, but it takes much more effort.

Having only done 200 miles on my R12S (A1) I'm not yet ready to rate it but it felt a bit heavier to turn in than my old R11S :O

LOL - seems all good apart from some small cosmetic repairs to the right fairing due to a drop which the seller failed to communicate. Only discovered it the day after when out in the sunlight which is a disappointing experience from York Motorola...

Light as a bicycle compared to my old R11S :D
