Bollox! blew my amp

Postby boxerscott » Sat Oct 31, 2015 11:22 pm

So quiet night in, no guests. A quiet number "Bomb Track" R.A.M feeling a little romantic as it is our anniversary. Feckin right channel on me amp gone  it`s only 36 years old!! gutted.

More expense for repair. it`s part of me.

Something moderate needed budget £300. any suggestions?

What amp was it? Worth repairing?

richer sounds. £300 will get you something decent. but depends on whether you need a phono input though. I've always found seperate pre-amps to be a pain in the arse.
If you can stretch to the 400 mark your options increase significantly.

It`s an older Sony TA series. I will have it repaired but I defo will not spend more than £300 on a replacement. I am checking the suggestions out now.

Not sure about 2nd hand ones though? although saying that I got lucky with a quality used and boxed cd deck from ebay.

Thanks for the replies.

Seems to give decent sound and drives the speakers well
