Buying kit
Hello
Where does everyone go to buy new stuff these days, now Hein Gericke & the like seem to have disappeared?
I need to buy a jacket this week but I want to try it on- surely not too much to ask?
Does everyone just buy online & send it back if it doesn't fit?

depends on where you are. get geared in leeds and guildford are both excellent.
other than that, the hill in newcastle is ok but not as many shops as there were.
i really struggle as i'm in west cumbria, where there's very little choice, and also being an odd size doesn't help, hate doing interenet shopping as it always costs me 3x the postage as i never get stuff to fit first time, so it ends up getting sent back and forth.
grand prix legends do good stuff and have free postage and returns, although recently almost all there stuff is very much aimed at the hipster crowd.

Afraid that the way things have gone these days, mail order. I usually stick to brands I know the sizes of so am usually pretty safe, but it would be nice to be able to go somewhere reasonably local and try on stuff.
The Sportsbike shop are good online.

If you are now in Cirencester now, then its a short hop to Bristol, Fowlers has loads of kit and a café so always good to go there, and just up the road is the Dainese Pro shop, we been customer's there for many years, very helpful and extremely knowledgeable.

Since I found all my Dainese kit started leaking and wearing out last year, I have completely re-kitted myself from head to foot from them.
Good service and I believe the largest clothing / accessories showroom in the UK - but don't quote me on that one.
There is also a decent cafe and large car park too.

I think a new Hein Gericke store has opened over East Anglia way but didn't take much notice of the ad. There's always Hein Gericke Germany if you know sizes are going to fit and the postage was cheap last time I checked

I've used them for years, and would go back there first every time.

There is always J&S Accessories - several branches.

Keen prices and lots of stock.
I bought an Arai helmet from them back in 2004, which proved to have been imported from Germany. This meant that when it required a repair to the webbing - J&S had to send it back to Germany rather than Arai UK. I doubt if it took any longer for the repair, than UK and was no problem.

Sounds good but it would probably push the price up a bit!
