Hi guys, I saw this bike on eBay and I know it is in Boxer Cup colours. I know that was never a factory option but I would like to know how it was most likely done? The current owner said in his ebay ad he meant to find out but never got around to it in time.
Was this a done at the dealers at the time or purchase or is it more likely the bike has been down and got a new paint job?
The White rear wheel and blue front one suggests to me it could have been ordered that way? If they were both grey or black I would think it was a yellow one or a Colgate bike that has just been sprayed.
It looks like a good job but hard to know from photos.
I'm going to guess at BMW UK or a large BMW main dealer.
I know it has featured on this forum before - perhaps a couple of years ago. By "featured" - I mean that someone spotted it for sale, and posted the link - and there might be some information in that thread.

dealer special I would have thought, unless someone had it done co's they like the scheme.. I guess Dreamachine may have done it http://www.dream-machine.co.uk/ who knows.
I did a complete re-paint on mine, mainly co's I have OCD and it some small marks that were driving me mad, but that bike looks right enough and the belly pan etc, says dealer special to me. no dodgy small number plate, aftermarket indicators, and I imagine the MOT's would give you the miles. tidy standard bike..
I would have assumed it was a previous owner that did it. If it was a dealer presumably you could look at the log book, see what dealer sold it and call them about it.

I mistook it for another 1200S with a BCR paint scheme but hastily edited my posts! That one had the colours laid out differently (lots of white around the back of the seat). This one seems more authentic to the original.

A member on here called Dave H had a 1200s with a very similar paint scheme. His last post was in Oct 2014 after he had sold said bike and sold some helibars for a 1200S to FW190.
He has a site of his own and is a motor mechanic from memory. Do a search on this forum and you will find his web link.
I tried but am in Armenia with crap internet speed at the moment.
I actually saw this and it is only about an hour away from my house. I'm in Edinburgh and it is in Glasgow. I was put off the 1100s a bit by reading done posts on here. A lot of people said the Mamola was over priced and the newer 04 version was better. More reading made me find out there was a 1200s and nearly everyone says it is a much better bike by a fair margin. Lighter and more powerful and makes the Mamola seem really old and heavy by comparison.
I haven't ridden either of the so I might be talking rubbish but would I be sorry if I bought that bike if I came across an 04 BCR or didn't buy the one in my top post?

Yeah, having to go to Glasgow is sh!t - however the bike looks very clean in the pics so it might be worth the risk. Don't forget your stab vest.....

I might get shot down here, but I don't think that there is any massive technical difference between the Mamola and the RWB version. The RWB's will have the twin spark engine whilst this one is the single spark version, but I don't think they're any more powerful? Perhaps someone who's ridden both can offer an opinion? The RWB had slightly taller suspension out of the factory (which, if you're vertically challanged might be a negative rather than a positive) but this one has full Ohlins so I don't think suspension will be an issue. I think the main difference is down to your preference on how each bike looks, and I personally prefer the looks of the Mamola version over the RWB version, but some misguided individuals may disagree!

I meant to add that the Mamola version is, of course, faster - as Randy's signature has been scientifically proven to add at least 10 BHP.
However, please go and ride one before shelling out five grand or so - an 11 and a 12 if you can. I'd hate to think that you spent all this time researching which is best only to ride one and discover that you hate it!
