R1200S- 9 mths wait for spare part from BMW - help! Please!

Postby Russ » Wed Oct 08, 2014 12:32 pm

When I bought my R1200S last year I did not realise it had Helibars on it, and when I did I decided I'd rather have the OE bars, so I ordered some from my nearest dealer, Vines of Guildford. They didn't have the bars in stock so they put them on order and I paid for them over the phone and waited to hear from Vines when the parts had arrived. 9 months later I'm still waiting...

BMW say, not that they won't supply the part, but that they don't have the information as to when they will be able to supply it.

So, if there is anyone out there with R1200S OE bars (i.e. the straight ones) would you like to sell them to me?

Alternatively, if you've got OE bars but fancy swapping them for some Helibars, let me know.

Or is you've any good ideas about where else I can get the original bars, please tell me. I've tried Motobins, Motorworks and James Sherlock with no success. :?

Your bike is stunning RoLoo. I think the black rocker covers change the whole look of the bike.

A stunning bike, Ron..........

Design, finish - all absolutely without peer!

A garage that would put your average Mortuary or Operating Theater - to shame, too

I'll let you off the rim tape Ron but not the red levers. Otherwise it's a peach.

All you "Rim-tape Nay-Sayers" - time to confess...................

The red rim-tape on Ron's bike - is tasteful

Come on - take "baby-steps" or stand up and admit:

"My name's *Gromit - and I covet Ron's rimtape!"

*insert your own moniker above.

The red BMW badges are cool too. I know they have been commented on before, but the small details change the look of the bike.
