I must admit I moan about the 1100 indicators when I jump on it after the Baghira, but after 10 miles I am fine with them, but as Steve said they are the odd one out for testers as most are the "conventional" layout.
I like the look of the new bike but I should imagine all the extra bits you will need to tour with it and accomodate a short or long inside leg measurement with the choice of seat options etc the final price will pretty heavy.

Also, Harley still use 'left for left' and 'right for right' and I don't see 'them' changing anytime soon.

Pound to a penny I reckon it's BMW cost-cutting regardless of journos wingeing about the 'stoopid indicators (yawn)'. Buying in a generic switchgear set is going to be cheaper than having something unique to their bikes.
The H-D system works well, in some ways I felt it better than the BMW one.

What Steve says is pretty true, the numbers of folks getting into biking is dropping so sharply. The BMW switch gear has long been a source of complaint for countless journo's, and why keep something that is costly to source and produce. I guess we all learned to live with it, but how many times did you go to hit the horn, and indicate all at the same time the market for bikes is shrinking faster than a pair of cheap market jeans, BMW can no longer just appeal to the few and have to aim at everybody.

I was aiming for the new 12r next year, however the RS has added another choice now so I'll see both in the metal and ride them then decide.
I seem to be in a minority but even after 30,00 on my 12ST, 93,000 on my 12RT and maybe 6k so far on my 12r, I prefer tele forks!
I prefer the LH/RH indicators, but back to Jap style indicator switch won't deter me to much I suspect.
So one of these bikes is going to suit down to the ground
Roll on Autum next year and some more pounds in the bank...

I have to admit - that I like the traditional forks on my R-1, but.....
One of the great traits of my R1100s and 1200Adv - is the ability to brake heavily into a bend/hairpin without upsetting the geometry of the bike.....
Maybe that is just an admission of a failing on my part - that I rely on that, to get me out of scrapes that I could avoid with a bit more forward planning - who knows?........
I want a Telelever version of the Multistrada/KTM Adv, but if I was looking at one bike only - to do all things.............
This new RST might be the one.
I reckon it has the VFR 800 beat, even before it's broken cover.....
So - Who's gonna be the first on here - to purchase?............
