Any help or tips for the removal of my "pain in the arse" datatool alarm fitted to the r1100s only have one fragile old and passed it remote and i think it was put on when the bike was fairly new as it seems to be linking into the fuse box
As i am changing the battery was contemplating in removing it as its not needed and would save on the hassle and worry factor when out having a ride thinking about getting stuck because the remote just gives up.

NOOOOOOOOO, its the blue one!, seriously, you will have to remove the body panels to get at the battery anyway, my alarm unit was next to the battery tray so it was easy to trace all the wires to the fuse box etc. fortunately on mine the wiring had not been cut, just had the insulation sliced back and the alarm wires soldered to the loom so they were easy to find, it needs a bit of patience but not too bad a job, only about 4-5 wires to remove if I remember correctly. good luck.

I think Al also posted here about removing a Datatool alarm. I had mine removed when bike was in for service - getting it fitted wasn't one of my better ideas!!

As Blackal has said you can bridge it to "fool" the system. Or as Al said it can be removed and dispatched in to a bucket of water....this is what I did.
It takes time to follow the wires from the battery area where the alarm /module will be sited. I found it easy as long as you take your time and its a relief to loose the bugger for good.
Strangely I bought a Triumph Bonneville as a second bike recently and whats there under the seat looking at me... yep another Datatool, albeit with the bridge to fool it.
cant you put it in service / spanner mode and just leave it there. forever
mine is a datatool on my blackbird and it gives one chirp as i turn on the ignition, and chirps and flashes the indicators 30 seconds after i turn it off.
working with the hiss system i never turn it on, except for foreign trips.
it's sat 4 months with clock and alarm and no night charger and still started, so musnt use any power. i didn't get the cert or care for the insurance discount so im not sure which model mine is, but its like a clear button fob.
think ya hold both down to flash, then a bit more, and double press right one. found it online, fob hasn't been out in 2-3 years.
