That was confusing me, when the title was mega moto. But it all makes sense now.

What speed will he be hitting?

Andrew.

Hi
Don't know what speeds, but it would be tiring hanging on without a fairing
Ned. It is a r1200s which has been converted into a mega moto style bike.

Yep. Got the email, thanks.
I'm not sure if I'll be able to come to Bedford. I'll check.

All those brands hatch dates I see in the calendar are for the Indy, right?

Let's not hijack the thread. Yes, most track days are the Indy. The really expensive ones are for the GP.

Anyway, back to the races. If you looked at the youtube video I posted you will have noticed the bike is orange in colour, the pics gus posted shows an orange HP. I wonder if it is the same team. I guess these are mostly privately funded teams. Now if there are guys there racing 160 bhp HP2 Sport, how can you be competitive with a 130 bhp machine? This refers to the thread on pelican where the race HP2 Sport with big bore conversion was producing over 160 bhp. Do they race in a different class in the same heat as the KTM RC8's? I did look at the KTM website but my German is not the best. Gus, who is going with you in the team (pit crew) to Germany or will you be on your own?

Hi
The red hp2s (not orange) are in the same team. The bikes are standard apart from , air filter, exhausts and ECU remap . This is what they told me... So to be honest they could be bloody anything!!!
The bikes all run in the same class regardless of how much power they have or don't have!!!
Anything goes regarding modifications apart from supercharging and turbos.
The balance is to keep things light and keep power reliable...you need to finish the race to make em count.
:D
A few bikes have different rear drives on , so gearing the bike right also counts for something...
I will be going to Germany on my own.....so driver, cook, mechanic and rider all rolled into one!!
I will post some pictures up later showing progress, new brakes etc etc
Gus

Thanks for the reply gus. I guess the teams don't share their secrets or at least not all of it. Do you plan to do more than one race meeting or is this like a fact finding mission to improve the bike? Is Chris helping out with the bike? You're welcome to give the bike a shakedown at Bedford Autodrome, it is not too far from Birmingham. I plan if all goes well to do the track day on 15 April. We are looking at setting up a group, for a bit of discount, if there is enough interest from the regulars I know. Also depends on the weather cause that place is proper slippery when wet. It is good circuit, not my favourite, to test the suspension, acceleration and top speed. A circuit of two halves with a technical bit that requires precise lines and quick direction changes and a flowing part with high corner speeds, throw in some good brake testing areas and a few undulations here and there. Give me a pm if interested.

Hey Gus.......that's a lot of work you have done to the race bike, but I have to ask.......why not just get an HP2?

Looking good Gus, and now I can see why you needed the top yoke.
Phil.
