The silence from his medical team is very concerning, I fear the worst for him but wish him the best, a cruel twist of fate indeed. Why do these superhuman athletes have to push and push the limits? He had nothing to prove to anybody, retired from F1 and entered German Superbike racing, back to F1 then a family ski-ing incident. Gotta feel for his loved ones.

From what I have read, he was off-piste, but was with his young son so was not in an area that was particularly challenging. Sounds like a complete freak accident.

The silence from his medical team will be because there is nothing new to report. He is being kept in an induced coma until they feel his brain has recovered to the point where they can start to bring him to consciousness. Then they can assess the extent of the damage.

there are fears he may be permanently in the coma for the rest of his life, as with the time gone by people are usually out by now.....i hope he is`nt. and its all paper talk.

My wifes brother was kept in a coma for over a month after suffering head injuries following a car crash, so not that unusual. The extent of the injury may determine the length of the induced coma.

my son spent 7 months in a coma back in 2006, after getting knocked down and a brain injury, now in a w/chair and a lot of issues, but can talk and get on with life, now 21.

early days yet, the brain is an amazing unit, give it time.
