Seamless silk Balaclava.

Postby el-nicko » Mon Dec 16, 2013 1:09 pm

Can someone point me at one? I've done a search but from what I can tell (all the pic's are of black ones) even those that are advertised as 'seamless' actually have a seam

Nick.

Cheers Al, but if I run my cursor over their pic (for a magnified view) even that one, if I'm not mistaken, looks like it has a seam running over the top .

You're right Nick - despite their description of "seamless" in the blurb, when you look at the close up it does look suspiciously like a seam.
Perhaps seamless has another meaning that I'm not aware of? :?

Damned if I can find the ad Nick, but Brubeck do a genuine seamless one :) Think it'll prob be advertised as a winter sports type thing as opposed to motorbike gear,

Someone better at googling will be along soon with the link I'm sure

This is the only balaclava that I can see on the Brubeck web site, but it still looks to have a seam?

Nick, I use one of the lightweight summer neck tubes over my head and another round my neck, works for me, no seams.

Cheers lads and yes Al, that may be a solution. Having just bought a new lid (albeit with a washable lining) I'd like to keep it clean. As you can see from my profile pic, sadly, I'm 'challenged in the follicle department', with the result that, if I wear a balaclava with a seam, on removing it I'm left with a red line running from the front to the back of my bald pate. Not a good look, and it takes ages to 'fade' away. Hence my search for a seamless balaclava.
Ah vanity, vanity, all is vanity. Perhaps I should buy a wig. :rr:

Whats the problem with the line down the middle of your head Nick, it joins all the other lines on your face that the helmet leaves when you take it off. the other option is leave the balaclava on,

My cheap as Chips balaclava from Amazon was about £3.75 it does have seams but if worn inside out the seams seem to become irrelevant. In that it was only around the mouth area that the seam bothered me - turn it inside out and problem is cured. If the seam is pressing into your head your helemt may be a tad too small (or your head's too big) :P
There would appear to be a surfeit of prolixity and sesquipedalian content today please do not use a big word when a singularly un-loquacious and diminutive linguistic expression will satisfactorily accomplish the contemporary necessity
