Or has anyone got a pair just layin', un-used, in the back of a drawer? You know, the ones that had a zip pouch on the back with a HI-VIZ, water-proof over-mit inside that could be rolled out over the fingers of the glove itself. I had a pair years ago and they were brilliant but they were worn out eventually. Was out late last night on the 'blade (not so good wind protection as the 1100s) and after 40 miles or so, even with heated grips turned up 'full' my fingers were getting uncomfortably cold. After a 100 I'd had enough and it was back in the shed for both of us. Handle-bar muffs? 'fraid not. There's just no clearance on full lock to accommodate 'em. Your help gentlemen please.
Cheers, Nick.

It's all VFR (DCT) round here now. STILL missing my 1100s tho.
Personally I'd go with a pair of race type with Goretex extrafit, I've been useing such since Alpinestars released the Road Tech maybe 15 years ago.
Totally waterproof and as Goretex is wind proof it keeps the cold out for longer.
The good thing is there only marginally thicker than a true race glove so you get plenty of "feel"
Probably the best of this type would be AStars 365, I've not tried them personally but I know plenty who swear by them.
Take a bit of adapting to but once you do they work well and are toasty warm, as the fingers get to share heat
What he said and if it really gets cold some silk inner gloves can also help.
There would appear to be a surfeit of prolixity and sesquipedalian content today please do not use a big word when a singularly un-loquacious and diminutive linguistic expression will satisfactorily accomplish the contemporary necessity

Have had a pair of these for many, many years and quite honestly they are the very best winter gloves I've ever had.
Oh and at last I can do the Vulcan salute, properly
Not much cop for the two fingered salute to errant car drivers tho'
Nope Steve you're wrong. I've just taken them out of the drawer and had a practice and it's still quite feasible to do not only the salute you mention but also the Vulcan and the single digit one as well. But not at the same time!

It was worth it just for the vision of you practicing "road signals" in the living room
Of course the Highway Codes universal "I'm not impressed with the standard of your driving" signal .... that of forefinger to thumb while shaking the hand up and down is still feasible too

Yep you're quite correct no problemo with that one either, sir!
