two Benelli Sei engines molished together I think, so I guess an 1800cc makes you realise how compact the K1600GT engine is!

I'm not sure, I can see what you mean about the sidestands, assuming those are the sidestands. But if you look at pics elsewhere of a 750/900 Sei their crankshaft ends are the same both sides, the alternator was carried behind the engine ISTR

Well if is real it would need stabalisers as they thing ani't gonna lean over very far !!
IMO the engine/s are just too similar on both sides of the bike (mirrored exactly in fact). I bet they didn't make a left handed and a right handed engine so the pipes are identically mirrored
oh and the the engine doesn't sit square in the bike either.
Just saying

to be fair the one I had on loan for the weekend sounded gorgeous, spent an unneccessary amount of time blipping the throttle just for the yowl of that six cylinder. Yowl is probably the best word to describe the note
I'd love someone at BMW to decide to do a K1300R version with the K1600 engine sort of like the concept bike they produced but more akin to the K1300R. I reckon there's a market there that would lap that model up.

Sounds just like the E30 BMW 325i.
However regarding the photo I don't know if it is photoshopped. The photo is not taken from a dead straight on position while the bike is on a centre stand and if you Google the image it appears in other websites. Benelli Dodici?
I retract that statement. On this blog http://ottonero.blogspot.co.uk/2010/07/more.html you can see something missing from the bike which makes me believe that it is cleverly done. Click on the photo and we'll see who is the first one to spot it.
