Battery discharging after a few days, normal or what?

What make of battery did you fit i have a brand new yuasa on the harley and that won't start the bike if left for a week
Mobatt probably going on next pension day
Odyssey on the R11 no problems even over winter
Remember the battery has to turn over a 1200 twin that's like turning over a car engine look at the battery in a car then you'll realise that any small battery will struggle
In the days of the R80s a lot of people used to fit Hilman imp batteries they would just be made to fit with a little work today we don't have that option

On cars this should be less than 0.03 amps - not sure about bikes, but I would expect the same or lower. If the drain is less than this then it points to the battery.
OK - I missed that this was a 12S with canbus, so doing this might be off the table due to the no fuse issue, and I'm slightly out of my depth now, as I came off the tools before this new electronic trickery became prevelant! (CANBUS = VODOO)
Perhaps the basic principle still applies though;
High current drain = problem on bike
Low current drain = problem with battery
Hopefully a CANBUS witch doctor will chime in and tell me if I'm talking out of my @rse......

Silly boy, I have obviously tried that already without success, but as you say it did put a on my face.
However just to temporarily get back on topic, I have confirmed my suspicions. Its definitely the Tom Tom cradle which seems to consume megawatts when the bike is parked,regardless of whether the sat nav is on it or not.
So now that I now the whys I haven't a clue about the wherefores.
Anyway looks as if a switch on the GPS cradle will sort it.

hey don't dis them, I have one in a drawer somewhere and it will go for two weeks on one charge where modern smartphones won't make two days
Ok it doesn't have all the bells n whistles but as a phone it's an awesome device
