I only manage 3k per year. Most if that is in one, week long trip every year.
I used to use the bike for everything, but life got in the way. That and a company fuel card means the car does not cost me any more, regardless of the mileage, whereas I have to pay to fuel the bike. It's very much a toy now.
Do People buy Bikes to Look at?

Probably the other way round actually
I can see me using the bike more in a few years, but at the moment it's impractical for all but high days and holidays. Not to mention costly when I have to pay to fuel the bike, but not the car.
Kids will be left home in a few years (oh yes they will) which will mean more time, if not necessarily more money.

This triumph concerns me, for only doing so few miles why powder coat the frame and swing arm, also replace all the bolts and the fork tubes? I reckon it's been raced or in an accident. I just don't see the justification of the expense on a bike that is cheap to buy now..

Do people buy bikes to look at? Get a life springs to mind but people do collect bikes, an acquaintance of mine does, he says the arse has fallen out of the collectable bike market at the moment, but collectable cars are what people will pay for. No matter what they buy them for that's up to them, you pay your dollar and you watch the show. Biking is growing smaller and older, no?

totally agree, something doesn`t ring true here, 955`s of that vintage are pretty well built, fork pitting after 5K miles, maybe, if he lived in a quarry, need to look close on this one....and I`ve had a few..

But on Sunday I thrashed out to Ballater and back for an hour and a half, debugged, polished, and admired the old girl
At six years old my MV has done 6500 miles, but I have rarely actually gone anywhere on it, normally it is just driven from one corner to the next until I came home.
When it goes to work, it usually comes home by the longest route I can find.
