Whinberry tart
If anyone's near Llangollen in the future, as an alternative to the Ponderosa cafe, there's a "pretty" little cafe at the end of the tiny road that hugs the cliffs overlooking the town. It's called Prospect Cafe, quite a tricky place to locate but worth the effort.
best of all they do an awesome whinberry tart, with whinberries picked from the mountain. Having done this as a kid with my folks I can testify it's a back breaking task
But worth it 'cos they taste fantastic

Steve, the other site the one we don't mention has the following message for you.
"Sorry, but this board is currently unavailable."
Appears to have been 'down' for quite a few weeks now (again)
I know you'll be gutted just thought I'd let you know
Are we there yet?

Took your advice Steve and ended up at the Prospect tea rooms and, of course, the tarts!
And yes they were as delicious as we had anticipated.
Got to the Prospect from the Ruabon road, hung a right at the Duke of Wellington but how do you get back to Llangollen via the Panoramic from the tea rooms?

hi Bob, I'm so gutted the other place is down ... not bad things happen to bad people
You can also get to the tearooms by turning at what used to be the Australia Arms, I think it's called the aussie rooster or something now.
To get back to Llan from the tearooms, if you turn right as you leave their driveway, going over the the cattle grid, then follow the Panorama towards Castell Dinas Bran. After the castle you go past a farm on the left in a dip, after that is a turning left, again in a dip, take that and follow the road around eventually it comes out by dinas bran high school and the centre of Llan
Gorgeous whinberry tarts aren't they
PS if anyone's struggling to find it it's here
