I would go for the Sportecs, now on my 3rd set. The tyre pressures in the handbook are wrong.
Metzeler recommend 36 front 42 rear, I run 35/40 with no problems at all, these pressures were given to me by a suspension specialist.
Andrew
Thank you Andrew, you confirm what Nick said.
As the temperature will raise a bit, I will try this set up.
Ciao, Luca

Very confidence inspiring and good feedback - will relay more when I've pushed them a bit harder.
Mine need replacing. Will go back to BT20/14 unless you've got a good report on the Road-Attacks. What's the verdict on them & how many miles have you put on them now?

errrrrrr - Put them on Jan 15 - and have done about just over 2.5K on them. (ish)
having just realised those figures I'm suddenly not so impressed with them. They're white lining like buggery (you may have spotted that Maisy - I think it happened in front of you last time I saw you) and it feels like they're squaring off early like 020's do.
There still seems to be plenty of tread but I"ll give a more complete report when I've killed them completely.
Apart from the white lining the grip and feel is very good.
non quod, sed quomodo
Im off to get some tyres tomorrow or on saturday.
Having read all the replies on this thread Im still a little unsure of where to go. My Roadtecs very suddenly seemed to hit the end of their life over the past couple of weeks, akthough 5.5k for me is excellent, as I usually get 2k with Sportecs.
Anyone have any final Thoughts or reports on theire tyres pls?
Ideally I'm looking for a good compromise (isnt everyone?)
Cheers PB

Well what worked fab on me S prob won't work so well on The tuono. The profile would be all wrong....so my sport touring faves Pilot Roads won't get a look in.
The Tuono came with 207RR's from the factory. At first I thought they were just standard 207's but after pushing it a bit after the tyres were scrubbed I realised that they felt a bit more planted.
I dropped the forks through a couple of notches yesterday which has made a vast improvement.
I don't think I'll be buying more 207RRs.....fancy something newer......maybe 014s or Diablos.Thing is....I've got 3 brand new front tyres hanging on the garage wall.... a Super Corsa 3,a BT57,and a Macadam 90....I'd like to think I could put the Super corsa to good use in the summer....but they scare the sh*t outta me when it's damp!
I would like something rather sticky tho!
Bailey.

If your looking for good all rounders....you'd be hard pushed to beat pilot roads. They do it all and wear better than 020s.
If you want something a tad softer...then try out some Diablos.
