Was the barrel on top off the bike when the photo was taken? It is a good photo.

I had the head and barrel on the bench for dry-fit, was bored after re-lapping for 3 hours, had a camera and some LED Torches...

Kind of inevitable really..

Still trying to decide if it's a cool shot or slightly tacky...

meh..

Mr. Spock is my role model so be advised; I possess no (discernible) sense of humour.

It's all VFR (DCT) round here now. STILL missing my 1100s tho.

Thanks Guys..

The barrels are from an 1150R (age and mileage unknown), they were ok when I bought them but I lightly ran my springy-spinny-drill-stone-hone-tool-arrangement over them anyhow.

The swarf you can see to the right is from the heads (they've been given a mild going over - more about that on the other thread). All the major parts are heading into the washer tomorrow to get rid of that contamination before I leak-test the valves and start the re-build.

Just a note, the marking you see on the valves is really only on the side of the valve seat and is all that's left of some fairly heavy coking that I left alone because its not in a vital area and is only some surface marking. The valve seats themselves came up good - if they leak-test ok, I'm happy with them:
