Hello from Sunny Arizona

Postby AZ Pete » Sun Oct 07, 2012 10:44 pm

Thank you for letting me benefit from your experiences. I have been lurking on your forum for over a year, gleaning as much information as I can.

My current ride is an '03 R1100S BCR. I bought it from the original owner (a BMW shop mechanic) about two years ago. It is the second bike I have had since a long absence from motorcycle ownership. I have ridden since about 1960, and owned various dirt and street bikes. When I moved to the Phoenix Metro area some 26 years ago, I sold my bikes due to the traffic here. When I retired and moved to the edge of the Metro area, I took to riding again.

Previous BMW's that I have owned were a '78 R100S and a '60 R69 with Jupiter sidecar. I regret letting them get away from me.

Hello Pete and welcome to the Fold.

I have some very fond memories of Arizona and used to spend a lot of time in Glendale and up in Flagstaff in the early and mid 90's.

Some great roads over there albeit a tad warm in the summer. :)

Oh, and great choice in bike.

Mr. Spock is my role model so be advised; I possess no (discernible) sense of humour.

It's all VFR (DCT) round here now. STILL missing my 1100s tho.

Thanks, I lived in Sedona for 9 years (when I had the R100S), my commute to work was Hwy 179 into Sedona. Great ride, and a much nicer climate than here in the Phoenix area. Our riding season is just starting here

Winslow is a lot more appealing in the song, isn't it.

Ah True. But still, as an inveterate tourist and a huge Eagles fan I was so thrilled to be there. Take it Easy eh?
