Nick, if you've ever bought anything from Machine Mart, you get occasional invites to part with ya wonga but they pay the VAT - was just thinking, the VAT on a bike lift is quite substantial and yer missus wouldn't have to bend down so far to clean the engine - and those HEADERS - there - finally got to say it!!

A lot of the crud collected in the cooling fins on the barrels - will be dead flies?

Use neat MUC-OFF, or similar - and use a stiff stippling brush, after leaving to soak for a few minutes.

A pressure-washer wouldn't be out of place either............ (There you go Nick - an idea for her Christmas, this year........ )

Clean fins with a long haired car shampoo brush and car shampoo solution, allow to soak, rinse with fresh water, dry off with a flannelette pull through.
Then sit back with a large 'Glenfarclas' or two.

Dremmel with a nylon brush head and gt 85. Put a tray under to catch run off and re use. Not as though my bikes have got dirty this year.

Well - if the late night/early morning shopping channels are to be believed:

A combination of "The Air-Bra" and "The Power of Steam" (steam cleaner) ........ Will do the trick.

Rain does mine unless i'm taking the motor to bits then it gets a rub down with a dustpan brush

For me it used to be Muc-Off and a small bottle brush between the fins and then FS-365 which helped stop some of the dirt sticking and makes it easier to clean next time.

Then I realised that you can't see the dirt while your riding it so I educated myself to be a bit less fussy.
