Well its finished, well sort of, we never finish do we. I,m pleased with the outcome, she passed the mot yesterday with no issues. I took her for a tentative run of 5 miles and all seemed well with the carburation really good. I set her up using a Morgan carb tune and i have to say it was straight forward, if anything she,s pulling smoother than as standard. So last evening a little longer run of some 75 miles and she ran really well, not the most comfortable for dual carriageway but on the backroads and through town its a blast. She feels a lot lighter, although i have removed some weight i believe the lower seat height has helped in giving the lower centre of gravity.
Hope the pictures do her justice. I have added a video on you tube under heading bmw bobber. ]
Thanks Dai. The great thing is they don,t cost a lot, i bought this as a ride to work bike 3 years ago for £800. Allow for the stock parts i sold i,d say it has cost me £150- 200. I did all the fabrication( most of the brackets that are not painted are stainless ), welding etc and i did the paint with rattle cans, it ain,t perfect and was never going to be. I had the view that as it was my first effort if it all went tits up i could sell the parts and see my money back. At least there ain,t another exactly the same.
Cheers Bry
Can't see a damn thing 'wrong' with it. Even the mounting of the licence plate/tax disc (those two pieces of 'grit' in the eye of the aesthete ) is done tastefuly.

Mr. Spock is my role model so be advised; I possess no (discernible) sense of humour.
It's all VFR (DCT) round here now. STILL missing my 1100s tho.

Plimsoles your showing your age there!
Well i have just had two emails back from Nik his words about your bike "very nice" so send him some pics and a build/ride report type thing you may get a feature
the second was a bollokin for not turning up at the Rat&Survival show this year [i had hoped he wouldn't notice i was missing]
Got a hankerin to one myself but as a cafe racer. Just trying to find the right doner bike at the right price at the moment. Looking for a 79 R85 or similar with the smooth cyinder heads if anyone know anyone that has one. The old boxers have suddenly become very popular and the sellers all seem to know the value of their bikes

Greg,
The rounded rocker covers can be retro fitted to any Airhead that was originally supplied with the oblong ones. Available new from the usual suspects.
Might I also recommend the 1070 kit from Siebenrock, oh and the twin plug heads and the 40mm Dell'Orto pumpers.
