Roadtecs - the first 1500 miles

Roadtecs are the bollox Mine are just coming up to 10k and i would definately recommend them. Good grip and excellent wear rate. Also because of the tread pattern (none in the centre), the rear seems to go on forever, although it is spinning up quite easily in the wet now. The front has still got loads of tread left, but I will change both together in the next 500 miles or so.

Hi Andrew,
The discs are made by an Italian company called Braking (lot of imagination these Italians). I got them from Talon 01935 431825.
My discs needed replacing anyway. They do make a difference, better feel and more bite but I'm used to them now and the brakes could still be improved alot. The original Brembo calipers are shit IMHO
If I remember correctly they're around £70 each.

A Warning to those doing high milages on Roadtecs.
I discovered this little problem yesterday while doing the Ace Cafe Hospital Toy Run.
Since the Roadtecs have no tread in the middle of the Rear tyre and winter riding is less conducive to using the edges (ahem ), it's very difficult to tell exactly how worn they are.
At 5,500 (ish - to be confirmed) miles on my lastest rear I was down to the canvas!!!! I knew the tyre was on it's way out, but had no idea just how badly it had worn!
I WILL be getting a new Z6 rear eventually, I really like them - once I've killed the 020 Chasbikes very kindly stuck on yesterday afternoon.

I put a set of Z6's on my SS after the BT020's died. Like crucial, I've done 9,000 and they still have life left in them. (rear has no centreline). Found them good in the dry, same as BT020's and seemed initially ok in the wet. I'm begining to change my mind though, .... the last month has been quite wet, .. and the arse end has been all over the place (Unfortunately... i'm not of an age where I think sliding is either cool or clever, .. I just brick myself). The saving grace has got to be the durability, .. I will get 11,000 out of them, .. but thats only 6 weeks for me,.. so Z6's will save me about £600-£750 a year over BT020's,.. and that equals about 5 good trackdays. Unlike the Bridgestones, I havn't had the casings down with the Z6's on (Lest make that 'Casing' not 'Casings'), but I havn't used them on the track,.... yet.
