ACF-50

Postby Gromit » Sun Jan 15, 2006 6:45 pm

I've tried this stuff for the 1st time this winter - coated the Harley with it back in the middle of December, riding the bike a few times in very salty road conditions since. After the Ace Toy Run (18th Dec) I put the bike away unwashed - I was somewhat ill over the holiday and couldn't even summon the energy to go out and clean it (yes, I was that ill). Anyway, I finally succumbed the other day and gave the bike a good clean.

To my delight and surprise (remember, NONE of the alloy on Harleys is andodised/coated - ie it's good old polishable, bare metal) there was virtually no corrosion on the bike at all, anywhere, and this is after it sitting in the garage, covered in salty grime, for over 3 weeks.

ACF isn't cheap - a litre bottle will cost itro 25-30 quid - but it certainly works. Best way to apply it is with a paintbrush (it's a gloopy-ish consistency) or moisten a rag with it and wipe on.

Good stuff it is :)
