Bold plug for a useful parts company

Postby oyster » Tue Jul 14, 2015 2:58 pm

My MOT is due later this month. I am doing a swift tour of France in two weeks, so I booked in to my local shop for 14.00 hrs Tuesday. I thought it prudent to do a quick pre MOT check again. I did it a week ago, but need to check again, finished lunch and grabbed the keys. During that no outing week, the front brake light switch gave up. About 22.5 hours to the MOT.
I phoned Sherlock's in Devon, they were useful last time. Yup, last switch in stock, could just get it into the post. It arrived this morning at 09.30, about 19 hours after ordering. I would have cancelled if it had not arrived; no pressure.
To fit; fairings off, snorkel off, tank back, right throttle grip off and invert. Several tie wraps later, the new one is in and the bike is ready. Two hour job.
And it passed.
Thank you Sherlock's for a great service. Again.
Oyster. 1999 R1100S. Almost original.

Out of all of the non-dealer BMW guys I've had the best experiences with Sherlocks. Some of the guys there are extremely helpful.
2000 BMW R1150GS
2004 BMW R1100SS Boxer Cup Replica
2003 Yamaha R6 (trackday bike)
