I know this is dull but I seem to have come up trumps this year with insurance so I'm sticking the info all in one place for others reference.
BIKE INSURANCE
eBike The policy includes European cover (but only countries in the EU which rules out Switzerland), Legal cover (DAS) and UK breakdown.
EUROPEAN BREAKDOWN COVER
Europ Assist (as used by Carole Nash I believe) £59.00 for an annual policy.
TRAVEL INSURANCE EDIT 30/05/05
Nationwide travel insurance covers "you if you are on a motorcycle ridden by someone with the appropriate licence" i.e. rider or pillion. Annual policy £51, single trip £18.79
Just read the above on the ukGSer forum and this is obviously cheaper than the following recomendation but I'll leave it in anyway.
Citi Bank seems exceptionally cheap for a short trip although I'm not so sure about the annual cost.
18-64 yrs = £2.00 per day (£1.50 + £0.50 for hazardous activity) Europe
18-64 yrs = £3.00 per day (£2.50 + £0.50 for hazardous activity) Worldwide
Annual = £72 (£57.00 + £15.00) Europe
Annual = £102 (£87.00 + £15.00) Worldwide
For an instant quote tel: 020 8662 4131 (No web address ) Hazardous acivities includes (amongst other things) "riding as a driver or passenger on mopeds or motorcycles with an engine capacity of more than 125cc"
Not sure if you need a Citi card to benefit though?
I've been able to insure the bike, get annual European breakdown cover and travel insurance for my week in France (my Lloyds TSB travel insurance won't accept bikes ) for £50 less than my Carole Nash renewal
