Having missed the set of Ohlins on fleabay, I spent this morning going through past posts and trawling the 'net. Having talked it through with various suppliers and read very positive feedback on thenI have just ordered a set from Tim Rose at TR Engineering. The price is still £500 a pair to Boxertrixers but he is putting the price up to £550 at the end of the month. Fitting and setup is still £50 if you go there.
He is stil offering a full refund if you don't get on with them. when I asked him about remote adjusters he was quite dismissive of thenm and sayts that all you need to adjust his shocks setting are a thumb and finger!
Looking forward to seeing what difference they will make.

E=MC Endurance shocks, price rise at end of the month

I was impressed with Tim Rose's confidant money back gaurantee and fitted the pair as mentioned somewhere earlier. The twentytwo months of pounding I have given them has done nothing but reaffirm my confidance in the product.
Adjustment is via a small knurled knob on the unit. Tim records details such as preferred riding style and usual weight on the machine, and pretunes the shock with the correct spring, pre-tension and internal damping. I, after about fifty miles, opted for a slightly stiffer front and similarly a fraction stiffer to the rear. Excellent from the box, no problems with them to date. Except, even though I am essentially a fair weather rider, some slight speckling of corrosion has appeared on the casing.

Oyster. 1999 R1100S. Almost original.

I found the same with Ohlins shocks - they're not as well finished as one might expect, especially for the money.
Even with the price rise, I'd say 550 notes for a custom-set-up pair of shocks is bloody good vfm in anyone's book. Nice one.
