My deposit is still with the Lion as is I believe Andy/ Tracy, Paul/Trudy and Ryan, and as they have all asked about the Welsh trip I’m reasoning well all be going, as previously said just need to confirm that date with the hotel then it’s a goer as far as I’m concerned.

Just my luck, that weekend is one I'm already booked up for next Year!! Could do earlier or later but wouldn't want to put anyone out. Guess I'll have to think about a Dale's weekend if anyone is interested?

I called the Lion Hotel and they were apologetic about selling up and having to cancel our booking next year.
They were very helpful over refunding the £25 deposit I had paid, so no issues at all.

I actually got an email from the Lion yesterday advising me they were closing and asking me to contact them for a refund of my £50 deposit. Did so and they are processing it now. Very impressed by the way they have handled it all.

All the best

Anyway I’m going for the weekend of the 6-7-8 May I’ll see anyone who’s coming there in the bar for a well deserved pint.

Well that’s if there’s any blood left in the old veins

I’m up for that Phil will check with boss see if she’s available that weekend :D

Yeh Phil, I appreciate the effort that Steve has put in previously setting up a one venue, all eggs in one basket which works when such accom is available but these days it aint!! Energy costs, staffing a fully functional hotel, paying vat and booking .com commission are making it impossible for a lot of establishments to function as they would like. We need to start thinking outside the box, from my experience I am sure Betsy could accommodate
a bunch of Boxertrix Herbert's who primarily want to ride and meet up.

Betws was our first Trixter meet, 2010, stayed in the Dragon which is also a Chinese restaurant, most of there rooms were taken by our group with another bunch staying in the main hotel in town which was also the venue for the group meal. Worked really well especially with iirc 40+ bikes that year.
Maybe next year but then again I’d like to go to Le Mans if at all possible which is usually mid April war/famin/covid aside.
