Computer'ish techy help anybody?

Just got a copy of the BM repair ROM for the 1200 seriies and having trouble accessing the files.
It boots up fine and I get all the menus but when trying to open any of the data files I get 'Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet'.
In the settings menu theres a tab to set the XML folder which has defaulted to a Temp folder in documents and settings.
Anbody got a clue?

Hi Dennis,

Might need a bit more info to help you here matey. What operating system are you running, XP, Vista, etc. Have you installed the manual onto your hard disc or are you running it directly from the CD? Are you running it using an administrator account or a restricted account?

Its my works laptop so it's windows XP on a restricted account, .
The disc doesnt give an install option so it's running direct.

You have to have the files/folders in the root of whatever drive you have it on.

So if you want to run it from a hard disk, make sure that in the root of the drive, you have a file/folder list something like:

Same applies if you burn it to a CD i.e. make sure it's in the root of the disk structure.

I am trying to run it dirctly from the DVD. It has all the files you listed except for:
BMW-Motorrad-CD.xsl
Temp.xml
Does this mean Ive bought a pup?

The two files you are missing are just temporary ones that it creates every time it runs. (they are placed in the location you specify for the "xml folder" in "Settings".

I have mine set to C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Local Settings\Temp.
