Sorry asking about tyres , but is anybody running sport tyres on their R1100S? I would like a sport tyre that's good for track day on my 2003 model.
I have a pair of Michelin Pilots on at the moment which are great for the road but start creeping a bit on the track.
I have a 180 55ZR17 on the back at present, is that the right size?

Yes, if you have a 5.5" rim.

I was paying double that price in the early 2000's for Bridgestone trackday tyres.
Was lucky to get 1000 to 1500 miles out of them including road riding to & from the circuit.
Put the 11S on a trailer or in my Renault Espace after that to save road wear.
I've found Michelin PR3/4 to be excellent on the road, but "move " around under heavy braking and rocker box scraping cornering - not stable enough.
I have no experience of any Maaxis tyres so hope you find them good. Tyre tech has moved on a lot in the last 15 years or so.

Unless it has changed recently Chris Walker uses maxis tyres at his race school, although he was on his own bike the fast bikes journo was suitably impressed with what he saw, think the article was 2015/16. I have a pair on my super moto and they outperform me if that helps

Got them on my 12S and they perform well on the road, not tried track yet but will in the next month or so.

Thank you for all your replies. I have also found these Michelin Pilot Powers for £127 pair delivered. They all seem a bargain at the moment

I've got Diablo Rosso III's for my track day exploits on my Yellow 11S, very pleased with them ( twice at Snett ) and they'll be back out a couple of times this year too

Re: R1100S Sport Tryes
I have just ordered the Michelin Pilot Powers, I'm sure they will out perform me.
Been keeping an eye out for a spare set of wheels and discs, appears the 5.5 rims are a bit of a rarity. Anyone ?
