2003 Boxer Cup front suspension wishbone

Postby HarrisBikeNut » Mon Apr 02, 2018 7:46 am

I want to refurbish the front wishbone on my 2003 BCR Randy Mamola model. Thought I would quicken up the job by buying a second hand one, getting it refurbed and then remove the current one and replace with the refurbed one in one go so I can still use the bike as much as possible. Can anyone confirm what (I think) is the case, based on looking at on line part numbers,
that the part is the same across all years and models of R1100S?

From my experience, the wishbone is a composite part, mine had loads of welding/brazing splatter attached to it, not fettled before it went for painting and subsequently started to flake the paint and started to eat itself. If your, earlier model than mine is in need of re doing then possibly because of the strip down involved other parts may need addressing, front engine cover, fork ends, bridges etc. ?

started out with nothing, still have most of it left.

Afaik and I'm quoting from what I thought was a forum post I copied from here years ago by r550s ( although I can't find it on here so it may have been from pelican forum.)
"all sheet metal telelver trailing arms for all oilheads have the same dimensions......." although not all have steering damper brackets

Here is a post from r550s about modifying the front arm

edit
Actually it was on pelican r1100s forum if you search under "motoyoyo"
