1200 injectors for the 1100.

Postby Neil178 » Mon Nov 14, 2016 6:19 pm

There is a thread on Pelican about this.
I'm just wondering if anyone here has these fitted? Any comments on them?
Matched injectors with adaptor from the 1200 to fit the R1100S for sale as a kit from Germany.
The 1200 injector has a 4 spray pattern as opposed to just one on the older 1100 injector. Benefits are a smother engine with less vibration.
There is also a link to the ADV site. I'm only half way through that but my mind is made up. Santa will have a parcel to bring me for Xmas!

You can now get fuel injector adapters with and without matched fuel injectors that convert R1200 to both the old R1100xx and the newer R1150xx, R1100S.

The vendor is Injector-Rehab.com out of New Jersey, USA.
I have no affiliation with them other than I have ordered from them in the past and have gotten good service.
They offer just the adapters if you want.

I'm resurrecting an old thread but I've recently fitted a set.

It's early days yet and I guess in the interests of a proper comparison I'll have to refit the originals but initial feeling is , you've guessed, Smoother at cruising speeds and small throttle openings . I've found that in recent years I've used my 11S more in winter , it's only now that subconsciously I guess that winter gloves had been damping out the handlebar vibration which has all but disappeared with the balanced injector upgrade.
I've also found that I'm generally riding in a higher gear than I normally would and given that I've owned the bike for a long time this can only be down to the upgrade ?
I've done 400 miles in the last week , no more numb hands, fuel light doesn't come on till 150 miles , previously 135 ish miles so I guess 10% improvement ( first tank was 163miles on 15.26 litres). 48 odd mpg.
Maybe mine was a particularly bad example but now I find that the bike can waft down 60mph dual carriageways with the throttle barely open but the pick up is so much better that I find I'm riding the bike much more smoothly , just roll the throttle open and I'm breaking the speed limit .. So, potential speeding tickets aside it'll pay for itself in 11k ish miles?

Just reading this post.

is it a worthy mod while the bike is in? being renovated?

Nab, have you got the offset cam sprockets or any other mods on your bike?

I have a Y piece fitted , Lennies Induct fitted and I never got around to fitting the sprockets that I purchased s/hand on here  mainly because I was happy enough with the powerband.
As I've mentioned many times on here I've owned my bike since the early noughties and the bike has 120k plus miles on it , at insurance renewal end of October I nearly removed my 11s from the policy but I'm glad i didn't now ( for the moment...)
I'm loathe to recommend anything directly but fitting the injectors is a 20 min job at most plus balancing the Tb's . (ie very easy) Personally I'd ride the bike for a bit with whatever mods you've planned and consider fitting at a later date if unhappy . Hopefully I'll have more mileage on mine then and be able to report back possibly also swopping in the old injectors as a back to back comparison .

The one you listed is not for the S ,
This is the one you need if your bike is an 11S , less expensive too..
