De-cat and fuel

I've got an R1100S with a de-cat pipe and which apparently had different ("bigger") fuel injectors fitted and also this brass body/adjusting screw (below) on the RH throttle body. I've not seen this on other bikes.

Perhaps it is what's normally under the stainless cap but the adjusting nut seems to protrude too far to be covered by the usual cap.

The bike runs fine and ticks over very smoothly (at 900rpm) which I think is not always the case.

What injectors am I likely to have and what's the brass thingy?

I suspect the 'bigger fuel injectors' are in fact the mod where people fit the fuel pressure regulator from a K1200RS which runs at a higher pressure than the standard 1100S one.

Also that thing on the side of the throttle body is a 'ticker killer' to stop the noise that they sometimes develop over time.

Explanation from Steptoe on the fuel pressure regulator here: http://www.ukgser.com/forums/archive/in ... 82904.html

Ticker killer how to explained here: http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread ... ottle-Body

Thanks

Yes - I've seen that my injectors are exactly the same as another R11 so, unless the code number on the side is used on 'bigger' injectors as well, I'm pretty sure they are standard.

And many thanks for the links, interesting. The link below is a clip that shows the machine-gun like ticking from the throttle body.

And this is the kit like mine, from MotorWorks, that cures it
