ECU update

Is it worth doing. I've got a PC3 on my 12S and I'm going into the dealer on Saturday for this fuel line recall thingy. I thought I'd get whatever the latest update is whilst I'm in there but the service guy was concerned about my PC3 and if the bike is running fine then not to bother. I didn't think it would matter that I have the pc3.

The only bike that generally gets an ECU upgrade (he told me tongue in cheek) was the K1600GT that needs them every week.

Anyone had positive results. I seem to remember a conversation about this some time ago.

Cheers
Steve

Hi Steve,

if the bike is running fine I would not bother as well. Also since there are no updates for many years (the 12S is out of production for over 7 years) it would be worthwhile checking if there is any update at all available ...

The PC3 will have over-ridden most of the function of the ECU already?

I would leave the ECU as it is.

Only mod I would consider - is to get rid (sell) the PC3, and get the ECU remapped. Hilltop Motorcycles or Coventry Ducati spring to mind

After a chat with someone in the know, I've been steered clear from hilltop but I might consider an ECU remap from elsewhere in the future as it would appear to be the way forward.
