stutter

Postby f800s » Thu Jan 24, 2013 5:43 pm

Greetings

I haven't used my R11s much in the last 2 months and when I did yesterday I noticed it had developed a occasional stutter or hic-cup when on idle, just a drop of revs for a split second but enough to stall it if I wasn't quick enough to catch it. No problem once on the move just annoying in town when approaching traffic lights and slowing down.

Any ideas - I'm not that mechanically minded so keep it simple. :?

Thanks

Thanks for that timbox2, but I've been too busy playing with my new R1200R!!!

I filled it up with fresh fuel yesterday and I can't give it too much as the clutch is starting to slip.

Ahh, spoilt see, Ive only got the one bike, but being in the midst of what seems like Siberia at the moment mine too hasnt had anywhere near the amount of use it normally does. I do remember that when I had my 1100S it would occasionally do what yours is doing but then the next day would be fine, changed the fuel filter recently?

Oh, and clutch on an S? Ba..tard of a job by all accounts, mine lasted 90K miles and still going by all accounts.

That reminds me, must do something with the spare gearbox and final drive still sat in my shed, but then again I may have another S one day, this K13 is costing vast amounts to run

My 12S suffered the same when it hadn't been used. It was fairly bad for the first week or so I owned it (I think it was stood for months in the dealers). I seem to recall a good (140mile) ride cured it.

Must just be a boxer thing?
