Hi all
Before my bike goes to be setup on BSD,s dyno after the fitting of a power commander and boxerburners(when they arrive)I thought I had better check want software was in the ECU. I booked it in to Clarks BMW in brum weds. The upshot was it still had the original 06 software in it. They upgraded to the latest edition software which has totally transformed the bike. It runs much much better than before. Will see what's what when bike put on dyno. Very happy with the update alone. Maybe worth checking if your bikes have had the latest update.

i was looking to do this to mine gus. what did they charge you for it? are the 'boxer burners' short intake pipes? if so i don't know if i'd want them on the 12 with the concentric throttle as it already feels like it lacks torque at the bottom and these will surely add to that lack by pushing more power to the top.

Hi
They charged £30.
The boxer burners do rob bottom end but gain in midrange and top end is pretty good. I don't mind working a gearbox
The ecu update is a must if you have old software installed.

Any idea how you check the software version or date?
Anybody in Scotland able to update the software is it a dealer only or a good independant who can do it?
When I had my triumph I was able to download the Tuneecu program and I could load different maps, correct the speedo diagnose faults etc and all for free......I'm guessing there isn't something similar for the R12s??

That's my experience when mine was serviced last sept, came back a different bike, dunno if there has been an update since then, will find out. IMHO it's a must especially if you want to do further performance upgrades, best to start at the highest state of tune, supposedly up from 116-118 bhp to 122-124 bhp
Be interesting to see how much the pc111 makes Gus.

According to the guy I bought mine from it has been set up with the pcIII to make 130 at the wheel. That seems quite a lot so after I get it re-flashed I'll get it rolling roaded and the pcIII set up again and see what's what.

I cant see it making that much without some serious engine work. Be interested to see what it does put out. Its the perfect fuelling i am really after with fitting the power commander. I was up till 2 am this morning fitting power commander and quickshifter. Going to give bike a fully synth oil change and new plugs and then book dyno. I dont think the boxer burners are going to turn up anytime soon as the guy who makes them in germany is away on holiday.

Is there any way of checking software version it's running without going to a dealer, via the display?. . .Being in Glasgow it's not that easy to just pop across to Edinburgh to have it checked these days.

You can use a GS911 to read codes and what software is installed. They are not cheap. Although you can use one to clear and read faults . Also it can be used to set idle via the stepper motors.

Does anyone know what software revision is the latest one so I can check mine with the GS911 ?

Lo Dave,
If you read the posts on the last page it may give you some insight, although it seems the only sure way is to get it flashed at a dealer

Phil, must have missed something here...what last page are you referring to??
I have checked the ECU in my bike this morning and these are the numbers :
BMS-KBMS
type:BMS-K
Part No.:7704861
Hardware Index:10
Coding Index:1
Manufacturer:Bosch
Manufacturing Date:2006-07-29
HWOE No.:27940787
MCV:0.5.8
FSV:0.77.22
OSV:2.3.1
Program status:220E
Date release:9C11
Assume the Program Status and Date of release codes are the key ones ?
