Anybody had a problem or heard of a problem with HP2 Sport clutches?
Leaking seals allowing oil/fluid into/omto the clutch plates?

Only with a faulty seal, it shouldn't have worn out in 6k.
I've never tried to get at the clutch area on the 1200, but I assume just to check if a seal is gone is a big job, maybe involving removing the gearbox (someone else will probably know exactly what's involved).

If the HP2 gearbox is similar to the R1100S, then the rear seal on the gearbox input shaft could have failed. This is the area where the clutch slave cylinder and actuator push rod reside. It is why the clutch started slipping on my R11S - but at 50k miles. It is/was a fairly common issue.
The seal(s) on the slave cylinder may also have failed, in which case contamination will be clutch fluid.
Removing the starter motor is easy and will allow you to look at the flywheel/clutch area for damp oily stains.
Another option could be that your friction plate is fried!?!

#1 i took my 1100s starter motor off yeserday cos it is playing up and I was pleased to see that everything was nice and dry inside. Had my clutch slave cylinder replaced by BMW on my 13000mls 3 year old R1200GSA FBMWSH as a good will jobbie. It is a full days labour, rear subframe plus swing arm drive shaft bevel box assy off. Then the gearbox off to gain access. Not a cheap option but I only paid for the parts. You may have an indication by taking the starter motor off. Speak to your local and if they are as good as Wollaston they'll look after you. This is a documented problem on the 1200GS range affecting a small number of bikes, unfortunately I had one of them.
