Pillion footrests

Postby babble53 » Tue Mar 09, 2004 7:44 pm

Is my bike the only one, or is it a 'standard feature' for the pillion footrests to completely destroy themselves under vibration. Mine are to such a state now that the ball bearings have departed and they sag to such an angle that the missus gets twisted ankles! I havalso have to use tie wraps to keep them in the up position. :(
I though i'd left this sort of 'italianate' build quality behind when i bought the beemer.

No,you're not alone. You wouldn't beleive that 2 pieces of metal could wear together so effectively.
Mine are so bad I took them off.Luckily I don't very often use them.

Same here - they're always falling forward like a tired elephants ears. I only keep them on to act as rear 'crash bungs' in case the bike goes down.
